America's Oldest Family Farm For Sale
When I saw the headline that Americas' oldest family farm was for sale I thouoght it might be some sad story about foreclosure in the great American recession but instead it's a sad story about American greed and disregard for history and tradition. The Tuttle Family farm has been in the family since the 1660's and the current family has decided it was better to sell the farm rather than to burden their children with it.
I personally would have thought a person who fight hard to keep that history and heritage but when the guy goes on about wanting to live his own life and not being to bound to some heritage "I didn't ask for" I realized he was a person ready to sell for profit. I got a chill and thought to myself what a greedy and selfish person he must be regardless of the fact he worked the farm for 50 years himself. I mean as an 11th generation farmer he has a moral obligation to at least 10 descendants who worked hard for that family land and he and his sisters have decided they don't want to put their kids through it.
I as a father was disheartened to hear that a son would do something like that to his family . I suppose there is no respect for legacy any longer and to each his own but what a shame that so many fought so hard so that one spoiled son could sell it off to the highest bidder.
